Tararua Farmer of the Year 2013
A huge congratulations to Andrew and Vicky Ellingham on winning the Tararua Farmer of the Year for 2013! There was a great turn out for the day and I know I wasnt the only one to leave with a few interesting things to ponder.
Andrew and Vicki have been successfully using Motu-nui genetics among their 76% sheep operation since 2007. When explaining the choice to use Motu-nui genetics, Andrew said that he had “looked around a lot of different studs” and that he felt “Motu-nui fitted well into his system given the shape, vigour and hardiness of their sheep”.
What Andrew and Vicki have achieved since purchasing their first farm, Waikopiro, in 2004, is nothing short of exceptional. Through hard work, intelligent busness management and diligent farming practices, they have succeeded in growing their business to an award winning level. We are immensely proud to see what Andrew and VIcki have achieved using Motu-nui genetics and look forward to seeing whats in store for them in times to come.
Well done to both Andrew and VIcki and also to their very supportive families, who clearly have been instrumental in this success story.
